It's only natural to wonder how you stack up sexually. Here, 20 questions to help you evaluate your parts—and your performance.
We've got 20 Questions to help you size up your sexual performance.
couple kissing in bed

Most everyone engages in locker room smack at some time or another, but if you’ve ever wondered what other guys are reallydoing in the bedroom, you’re not alone. “’Am I normal?’ is probably the biggest sex question out there,” says Yvonne K. Fulbright, Ph.D., Astroglide’s sexual health guru and author of Sultry Sex Talk to Seduce Any Lover. “Guys want to know how they compare.” Read on to find out if you’re the tiger you always knew you were—or to just to shed self doubt about your own preferences and performance.

happy couple in bed together

The average American adult has sex 120 times a year, according to a Trojan condom survey. Despite the one-day-in-three batting average, 63 percent said they wished they were having even more.

couple in bed holding condom

While only 28 percent of men say they use condoms (come on dudes, get with it!), their reports of sexual arousal, ease of erection, overall pleasure, and orgasm were pretty much in line with those who ride bareback, according to Indiana University’s Center for Sexual Health Promotion.

sex on the beach

Fifty-seven percent of Americans have had sex outdoors or in a public place, according to an ABC News poll. While your office meeting room probably isn’t such a brilliant venue, seek out more discrete open-air opportunities. “Take to the woods,” says Fulbright. “The great outdoors is the perfect place to get it on, especially with a blanket.”

man with prostitute

Maybe only this many guys will admit it? According to the Kinsey Institute, 15 percent of men—and three in 10 single men aged 30 and older—have paid for a prostitute.

couple kissing on airplane

The mile-high club is definitely an enviable membership: When Trojan condoms asked men where they’d most like to have sex but haven’t yet, 33 percent said on an airplane.

unsatisfied woman in bed

Better check to make sure you’re both on the same page: About 85% of men think their partner had an orgasm during their last encounter, while only 64% of women said they actually did, according to Indiana University research.

couple in bed

Despite what you may have heard about the Dirty Sanchez, most guys’ favorite bedroom trick is surprisingly predictable: Twenty seven percent prefer the classic missionary position, followed by doggy style at 24 percent.

cheating couple caught in the act

We all shake our heads at the high-profile men who stray (here's looking at you, Petraeus) but guess what? A whopping 23 percent of guys have cheated on their mate, according to research published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior. Other interesting findings from that same study: Women cheat almost as much as men (19 percent say they've done it), and people with sexual performance anxiety are more likely to step out.

guy lying in bed sexting

Anthony Weiner may have been ahead of his time. When it comes to sexting, only 19% of Americans say they’ve done it. Should you give it a go? “There are many situations when it’s inappropriate,” says Fulbright. “Don’t sext if a person is in a business meeting or driving. You don't want to get them all fired up at the wrong time!”

man with sex on the brain
Fifty four percent of men think about sex every day or several times a day, 43 percent think about it a few times a week or month, and fewer than 4 percent have lovin’ on their mind less often than that, according to research from the University of Chicago.
couple kissing on date
Twenty-nine percent of Americans say they have, and almost as many have had an unexpected sexual encounter with someone new, according to ABC News. If you’re game to move fast, “make sure the expiration date is good on the condoms, they've been stored properly, and you've got lube handy,” says Fulbright.
guy holding up eight fingers

Average are high, of course, since the Wilt Chamberlins of the world throw off the curve. But believe it or not, most guys aren’t the studs they like to let on that they are. According to CDC data, the median number of sex partners for men ages 25-44 is six. That’s it. And only 28 percent of dudes have slept with 15 or more women.

happy couple in bed together

According to Sex in America: A Definitive Survey, three-quarters of sexually active men say they orgasm every time, but it’s normal if you don’t. “The reasons can be physiological, psychological, emotional, or relational,” says Fulbright. “Some are worrisome, and others aren’t. Being tired and stressed is a temporary issue, whereas you should talk to your doctor if you suspect health problems are the root cause.”

guy measuring his penis

The average length for a U.S. male is 5.1 inches, which ranks us 18th worldwide, according to the Journal Personality and Individual Differences. (The Republic of Congo tops the list at 7.1 inches, while North and South Korea anchor the bottom at 3.8.)

woman in underwear wearing wedding ring

Putting a ring on it actually ups your chances of a satisfying sex life: Eighty two percent of married guys say they’re happy with theirs, compared to only 71 percent of singles. “Married guys know their partners better, so they know how to turn them on,” says Fulbright.

man watching porn on computer

A quarter of guys say they’ve visited a porn site on the web in the last thirty days, according to the journal Sexuality and Culture. Far more shocking—and inconsistent? More than half of all of the spending on the Internet is estimated to be related to sex.

guy masturbating in bathroom

Adjusting the antenna, charming your snake, fiddling the flesh flute—whatever you want to call it—guys say they masturbate an average of 12 times per month, according to British research.

frustrated man sitting on bed

You better betcha other guys are with you: There are more than 450,000 Google searches every month for premature ejaculation, and about one in three guys in the U.S. is dealing with the issue, says research published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

woman looking down man's underwear

Much male brainpower has been spent worrying about the length, the size, and how many times you can make it rise. Here’s the reality: Eighty-five percent of women are satisfied with their partner's penis size, even though only 55 percent of guys like the size of their package, according to the British Journal of Urology. BTW: About 90% of women prefer a wide penis to a long one.

Los Angeles couple

Maybe it’s the palm trees and coastal breeze? Trojan saysLos Angelinos report having sex 135 times a year, which is the most frequent bedroom romping of any major U.S. city. Ben Franklin may have been a lot of things, but an aphrodisiac ain’t one of ‘em: Philadelphia bottoms the list with only 99 annual interludes.

CrossFit Fenway prioritizes the athlete's needs by making sure there is enough space, equipment, and time to complete all of the exercises, as well as keeping variety in all of the training so boredom isn't an issue. The box offers all levels of classes, including competitor training (the box even had an affiliate team at the 2011 CrossFit Games), and supplemental endurance training programs throughout the year. (windycitycrossfit.com)
Northwest CrossFit in Seattle, WA
After Northwest CrossFit was opened in 2007 by owner and athlete Jake Platt, the box had to expand — so many athletes had joined that workouts were being held outside in the parking lot. Platt decided to build two more locations (with input on layout from engineers, architects, and athletes), so each gym is aesthetically pleasing and has all essential amenities like good lighting, open floor space, and tons of equipment. Plus, the Greenlake space has floor-to-ceiling garage windows that are often open when the weather is nice. (Last year, it raised $215,000.) Specialty classes include Olympic weightlifting and gymnastics, as well as a nutrition program that combines Paleo Diet education with a strength and conditioning regimen for weight loss. (Proof it works: One client shed 85 pounds last year!) (dogtowncrossfit.com)
CrossFit Central in Austin, TX
With three locations around Austin, one of CrossFit Central’s boxes will always be nearby—so you can’t use logistics as an excuse to skip a class. The box holds numerous challenges and competitions throughout the year that range in size from 40 competitors to 400. Many of the challenges are CrossFit-specific, but a few are geared towards the general fitness buff. One of the three gyms is dedicated to specifically training elite and competitive athletes, and it has sent competitors to the CrossFit games since 2007. And if you are looking for something tailored specifically to your workout goals, CrossFit Central should be able to help you out—the gym has women's only classes, RunSmart Endurance Training, as well as Olympic Weightlifting classes. (centralathlete.com)
Shoreline CrossFit in Branford, CT
The 21,000 square-foot Shoreline CrossFit box makes trying this sport much less intimidating than diving in headfirst. With their On-Ramp introduction program, you can attend eight sessions that cover fundamental movements and nutrition, which are the basics of CrossFit. Then, after you've mastered the introductory course, get on the roster for a regular class, like Olympic Lifting, CrossFit Yoga, Endurance, or a Master class (for athletes 50 years and older). You can even get your family involved with CrossFit for kids and teens. Each course has about one trainer per 10 people, which provides a personal feeling even when the group is on the larger side. (shorelinecrossfit.com)
CrossFit LoDo in Denver, CO
Every Day at CrossFit LoDO, you'll find a Strength WOD, an Endurance WOD, and a Main WOD. There are two USA Weightlifting certified coaches on staff and an Olympic Weightlifting class offered twice a week. Most unique, however, is that this box has open gym all day, so athletes can always work out on their own time—or even come in for two-a-days. You'll also get an old-school, barbell-club feeling, as the gym resides in a 200-year-old building that was once used as stables for the Pony Express. (crossfitlodo.com)

Itching for adventure? Here are the 10 craziest, adrenaline-pumping high-altitude activities.
Bungee Jump Macau Tower, China
Wanna get high? We scouted out the world’s top 10 ways to soar above sea level. From sitting shotgun in a helicopter over the Great Barrier Reef to being your own aircraft in a BASE jump over the Swiss Alps, we guarantee this roundup will leave you with vertigo— and the best natural high you’ve ever had.

Helicopter Over The Great Barrier Reef, Australia
When you think of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, you probably think scuba diving. But with new helicopter tours being offered over the world’s largest coral reef system, you can join an even more elite group of people who have admired this natural wonder from above. Flights take off from Cairns and other Northeast Australian cities and include aerial views of rainforest-fringed coasts, pristine white beaches, and natch, the unique coral formations and marine life of the reef.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact GBR Helicopters, starting at $370 for 30 minutes and up to $546 for an hour.

Skydive Mount Everest, Nepal
Skydiving might be one of the most infamous ways to get high—and then get low again in record time. So how can you jump out from the diving crowds? Join the world’s most exclusive skydive over Mount Everest, at more than 29,000 feet. Hopefully you have a healthy savings account balance, because getting this high will run you a cool $15K; but if not, you’ll have time to start saving as the elite trips depart just twice per year. Worth it? We think so. This experience includes freefalling past many of the world’s highest mountain peaks and landing on the world’s highest Drop Zone.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact Incredible Adventures, and be sure to have your bank on speed dial to transfer that $15,000.

Hot Air Balloon Masai Mara, Kenya
Riding in a hot air balloon has a certain romance to it, no matter what the destination. But do it over the Masai Mara in Kenya and you’ll be hard-pressed to conjure a more cinematic experience. Calmly soaring over the Serengeti grasslands will give you a completely different perspective than the one you get from the more traditional safari vehicle, the jeep. If possible, try to visit from the months of April through July, when the Great Migration occurs and wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles lumber across the Serengeti, led by genetic precursors to the GPS. By grazing over the plains in a fire-fueled balloon, you’ll take part in the largest mass movement of mammals on the planet.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact Porini Kenya, $450 per person.

Hang Glide Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Hang gliding, in which the participant pilots a light and non motorized aircraft, has been around for almost a century. And for nearly fifty years, it’s been an adventure traveler’s tradition when visiting Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. More than 10,000 tandem flights take off each year, and it’s easy to see why: it’s a glider’s dream to to get airborne with the tropical sea breeze in your face and the mountain air in your lungs. For those short on time, it’s a handy way to get all your sightseeing done in one go—one flight can knock out Corcovado, Sugar Loaf, Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches, as well as the iconic Cristo Redentor.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact Rio Hang Gliding, $169 with 10% off for prepayment. Photos and videos from $37-79.

Arguably the world’s most impressive historic site, Angkor Wat—which once served as the seat of the Khmer Empire—is a bucket-list destination. It has survived centuries rife with war, dictators and genocide but is now threatened once again by the strain of two million annual visitors. Get high above the maddening crowds with a unique microlight flight. A fairly fresh addition to the aviation scene, microlights are small, motored aircrafts with a four-hour endurance, the ability to lift 550 lbs., and the capability to reach altitudes of nearly 10,000 feet. Flights in Cambodia include intimate aerial views of the Angkor temple groups, rural countryside, and the Tonle Sap floating villages.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact Skyventure, from $60 for 15 minutes to $180 for an hour.

BASE Jump Interlaken, Switzerland
This is by far the most controversial way to get high—at least on this list! BASE jumping, in which participants jump from fixed points and use parachutes to break their fall, is one of the riskiest sports on earth, with one out of every 60 jumps ending in fatality. Interlaken, Switzerland, is one of the most popular places on earth to BASE jump thanks to its high mountain peaks and scenic views. However, even at this BASE hotspot, no tour operator will assume responsibility for jumpers—this is a DIY get high activity.

HOW TO GET HIGH:Happy Tour Interlaken provides tours to “observe the jumpers” for $156 for up to four people. Discounts available for larger groups.

Paragliding is a gentle sport: participants glide lightweight and free-flying from a harness held up by a fabric wing. But don’t be fooled by the lack of engine: paraglider flights can last hours and cover many miles. What better location for this mid-air ballet than mild-mannered Japan? Paragliding over Mount Fuji brings you to the rim of the country’s highest mountain as well as an active volcano—surely enough to provide a fix for any adrenaline junkie. And in line with true Japanese hospitality, you’ll be served a piping-hot cup of green tea upon landing.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact Asagirikougen Para, $38 on a weekday, $44 on a weekend.

Jetpack The Florida Keys, United States
Jetpacks may seem futuresque, but you can try them right now—and you don’t have to go too far to do it. Florida is home to the world’s only Jetpack flight tour operator. Flights begin with a boat ride out to a custom flight deck, where you’ll be introduced to the ins and outs—and ups and downs (pun most certainly intended)—of the Jetlev R200. Don’t get too excited, though. The jetpack remains tethered to a boat and maxes out at 20 minutes of flight time. Still, this might just be the world’s newest, and certainly most futuristic, way to get high.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact Jet Pack Adventures, $250 for a two-hour experience.

Seaplane Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Seaplanes are unique in their ability to both soar high over skyscrapers or mountains and also to limbo low, right down to sea level. And Dubai is a location that takes advantage of both these opportunities. Passengers can get eye -level with the world’s only seven-star hotel, the Burj Al Arab; the world’s tallest building, the Burj Dubai; and other landmarks, including The World Islands and the Dubai Atlantis. What went up then goes down, zipping along the famous coastline before making a dramatic water landing in the Persian Gulf.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact Arabia Horizons, $329 per passenger.

Bungee Jump Macau Tower, China
Bungee Jumping has become a popular activity, with jumps set up across the globe from Argentina to Zimbabwe. But the ultimate leap of faith is the world’s highest bungee jump above China’s special administrative region of Macau. This hop will get you high—all the way up to 764 feet—and then back down again. Views of the glittering metropolis of Macau and the South China Sea will zoom past as you come within 100 feet of the ground.

HOW TO GET HIGH: Contact AJ Hackett, standard jump $319, full package including photo and video $409.
