You probably know that The Hateful Eight stars Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson, but there's another important celebrity in the film, too. You didn't see him in the trailer or in the pictures, but Channing Tatum fought tooth and nail to play the character Jody. Actually, he reportedly sent an email to Quentin Tarantino every day for a month until he was noticed. He told Jimmy Fallon that if he could have it his way, he would lock himself in a room with the other actors that were hoping to get the spot if the last person out alive would land the gig.
Tatum is the hidden gem of Tarantino's eighth film. He makes a very brief appearance, but an absolutely critical one (we aren't giving anything away here). Check out the first still of his surpising appearance above, courtesy of The Weinstein Company.
The Hateful Eight is currently playing in theaters, and in its full Tarantino-esque glory.
