The Acid Test: British researchers have published the results of an extraordinary new study on LSD In the study, researchers at Imperial College London scanned the brains of healthy adult subjects twice: Once after the subjects had taken a placebo, and then again after they'd taken 75mcg of LSD. The researchers found what the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix had basically been singing about since the 60s: LSD connects parts of the mind that are ordinarily segmented. The Instant Camera, Reinvented: The not-at-all-overambitiously-named "Impossible Project" has unveiled its I-1 instant camera, which utilizes old-school Polaroid 600 film in a thoroughly modern camera housing with modern features like a flash ring, autofocus, and a smartphone app that enables remote control of the camera. Old becomes new again on May 10 for $300. (Sounds like the project needs a new name, though.) [Impossible Project]

"Gosh, Why'd They Name It Skull Island?": Warner Bros. also dropped a behind-the-scenes sneak peak at the upcoming Kong: Skull Island during the MTV Music Awards. Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the reboot of Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong movie features an absolutely loaded cast: Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson, Jason Mitchell, and Corey Hawkins. Also, a giant gorilla.
