Sharapova Steps Away: Maria Sharapova tested positive for meldonium, a drug added to the World Anti-Doping Agency's list of banned substances, 28-year-old Russian tennis star announced Monday. She said she'd been taking the drug for 10 years to treat a variety of conditions, and that she hadn't realized the drug had been added to the banned list. Nike and Tag Heuer, two of her major sponsors, said they were suspending their relationships with her. “I made a huge mistake,” she said during a news conference in Los Angeles. “I don’t want to end my career this way and I really hope that I will be given another chance to play this game.” [The Wall Street Journal]
