World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) debuted its newly re-designed website on Thursday, introducing a mobile-friendly design built to showcase the latest and most popular headlines, highlights, and stories from professional wrestling.
Designed in collaboration with Code and Theory, the site is optimized for mobile viewers—whether they're on iPhone or Android systems—and emphasizes the signature aspect of the WWE experience: video. If, say, you wanted to find a clever video of The Usos and The Ascension playing Heads Up! with an iPad, it's right there. The site also prominently features the schedule of shows slated to appear on the WWE Network, plus trending news stories updated throughout the day to reflect user interest.
“WWE has always been at the forefront of embracing new technology, and the all-new WWE.com will allow us to better serve our fans by providing them with compelling content anytime, anywhere on the platform of their choice,” Rajan Mehta, WWE's executive vice president and chief technology officer, said in a press release. “With locally relevant content, WWE.com will enhance the experience for our fans around the world.”
The relaunch occurs in tandem with the launch of WWE's associated Spanish-language and German-language sites, all of which will be updated in real time by teams around the world.
