Chipotle's Redemption
Just when hung-over Americans most needed a burrito.

UPDATE: Even though Chipotle opened at 3 p.m. local time on Monday, it is offering one helluva deal: Text "RAINCHECK" TO 888-222 between 11:00AM and 6:00PM Eastern Standard Time on Feb. 8, 2016, and your local chain is offering to hook you up with the barbacoa deliciousness you so badly needed. More details at chipotle.com/raincheck

All My Kingdom for a Burrito: As Americans (especially Americans in the Carolinas) recover from a nationwide hangover, they are slowly awakening to an even worse headache: Chipotle closed the doors of all 1,900 of its restaurants nationwide until 3 p.m. today for a company-wide meeting about food safety. It's part of the company's latest effort to improve its food prep practices in the wake of outbreaks of foodborne illnesses at several of its restaurants. "We’ll be reopening today, Feb. 8th, at 3pm (local time) after our company-wide meeting," the company said on its website. "Hope to see you then."

(And Chipotle is based in Denver! You'd think they'd be handing out burritos for free in the streets of the Mile-High City!)

Which means we're comin' up on Monday like:

Or maybe more like:

Cam Newton Skipped the Post-Workout: Deion Sanders had some choice words for Cam Newton after the Super Bowl—not because of the NFL MVP's less-than-stellar performance for the Carolina Panthers, but because Newton walked out after a decidedly brief postgame conference. "You can't do that," said Sanders, now an analyst for NFL Media. "You can't be dabbin', smiling, styling and profiling when you win, so this is how you go out when you lose?" [FOX Sports]

Hanging Up the Cleats: And with one tweet on Sunday night, Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch retired. Or at least he seemed to retire. Sorta depends how you interpret it. But his teammates are reportedly trying to change his mind. [ESPN]

One Tall Photographer: None other than Thunders forward Kevin Durant was a photographer for the Super Bowl, snapping shots of the action for The Players' Tribune, Derek Jeter's blogging platform for pro players. His shots aren't bad, but we can relate to the whole not-fitting-into-your-photographer's-vest thing. [The Players' Tribune]
