Under Armour welcomes Dwayne Johnson to "our house."

This just in—the performance sports gear giant Under Armour has annouced that it will be teaming up with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to create a range of fitness products and apparel. The new products will be inspired by themes from The Rock's own fitness regimen, philanthropy, and ongoing film projects.  According to Johnson—the "DJ Signature Series" is soon to come. Look out for the first available products (including a backpack and duffle) in the next few weeks.

The partnership comes just after Under Armour released their new Connected Fitness platforms, which are part of a social network that will allow you to share your fitness activity with other athletes and fitness enthusiasts. (Read more about it, plus other cool things the brand has going on, here and here.)

The partnership between Johnson and Under Armour will be multifaceted—they are also enlisting his support to promote awareness for UA Freedom, an initiative developed to honor and support members of the U.S. Military, first responders, and public safety officials.

"His values and commitment to health and fitness directly align with Under Armour’s brand mission to make all athletes better and we look forward to working with him for many years to come,” said Todd Montesano, Senior Vice President Strategic Partnerships and Entertainment, in a press release.  It is only fitting, then, for him to join the ranks of Stephen Curry, Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Misty Copeland, Jordan Spieth, Lindsey Vonn, Andy Murray, and Michael Phelps as the newest member of the Under Armour team.

You can follow The Rock on Under Armour’s connected Fitness app UA Record™ to check out his workouts and get exclusive training tips and content.
