Today is National Pancake Day, which means you can indulge in free pancakes at IHOP from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The charity event, which launched in 2006, occurs annually and according to IHOP has raised almost $16 million to support charities throughout the communities in which they operate.

We love pancakes as much as the next guy, and are all about giving back, but at nearly 800 calories for a short stack loaded with butter and syrup, pancakes could make you gain more than you’re giving. Not exactly the type of balanced meal that helps you build and recover.
